Hello all, just a quick share of something amazingly delicious I made recently. I make a very good chocolate cake, and frankly superlative all butter vanilla fudge. I had the somewhat odd idea to combine them in a cake, and made this little beauty. Three layers of moist, rich, dark chocolate cake, sandwiched together with cocoa buttercream frosting and set fudge, topped off with a thick layer of more frosting.

I did not stint on the frosting. This cake is pure indulgence.

It was a bit tricky to spread the fudge onto the cake before it set, but with some frantic spreading (and perhaps a little litany of cussing – I admit nothing) I just about made it. I’ll share the recipe for this soon, along with some Chilli Chocolate Mocha Cake, some Almond Biscotti, and melt-in-the-mouth buttery little mini-Madeleines. Lots of baking recently, and too little writing!

Difficult to get the fudge even, but unsurprisingly, no one complained. No one said anything for a while, just made happy noises.

Promising to sit down and actually type something soon, Halo from the Halo Baking Emporium and Chocolaterie in Moseley, Birmingham UK.
